We’ve been proud to have worked and supplied dip and sauce packaging to The Dip Society since prior to to the launch of the first few pots from our stocks. Things have developed from there, and we have now developed a new custom printed pot, as well as new carton sleeves. Stocks of all are held to reduce lead-times & allow this exciting company to be very reactive to growth.
The Dip Society was created by Helen Boyle and Claire Ollard, who met over bubbles and canapes at a mutual friend’s wedding. It soon became clear that the pair had a love of tasty foods and most importantly, dips!
The initial product range was originally sold at farmers markets, frequently selling out. Today The Dip Society range is stocked in the UK’s top retailers including Ocado, Selfridges & Co., Budgens and Coop Lincolnshire.
The Dip Society needed a packaging partner and supplier that was able to turn around packaging within a short time frame as orders from retailers came in.
P. Wilkinson Containers has worked with Helen and Claire since the beginning helping the company evolve its packaging as its range has expanded – from farmers markets to national UK-wide listings.
From the start, P. Wilkinson Containers has supplied lightweight and durable clear plastic pots to best display The Dip Society’s range of hummus and dips. Now, each 280ml pot features a tamper evident lid and bespoke on-pack printing with the company’s logo. P. Wilkinson Containers also stocks and supplies the colourful, product sleeves.
P. Wilkinson Containers was able to offer The Dip Society the reassurance that its personalised packaging would be available on request within a five day turn around (instead of the industry standard two month lead time) without the client having to bulk buy vast stockpiles of packaging at once.
“Our success lies in our ability to quickly turn around stock ready for supermarket shelves – hummus is best eaten as fresh as possible after all. Working with P. Wilkinson Containers means that we can have fresh packaging supplies with us in just days,” Claire Boyle, Co-founder The Dip Society.
P. Wilkinson Containers holds the specialist packaging at their warehouse in central London ready to be dispatched as demand dictates helping to manage client cashflow. The company also has its own logistics fleet ensuring timely delivery of packaging supplies across the country.
Pip & Nut is well known for its range of nut butters including almond, peanut and vegan varieties which are available in several different formats: the classic jar, squeezy pouch and now the larger tub. P Wilkinson Containers was tasked with finding a format for the brand to package larger quantities of its signature almond butter
The client’s dedicated P Wilkinson Container account manager, Louisa, sourced a 520ml PET pot and lid and worked directly with the owner, Pip, to create a mock-up product before commencing on a full order. Once the design was agreed, the larger tubs were sent to fillers to be ready for the launch in just eight weeks.
P Wilkinson Containers also provided support throughout the trial stages, offering technical assistance to the manufacturer purchasing new machinery to manage the larger sized packaging. The butters are now available for purchase in Waitrose and Sainsbury’s across the country.
